Engagement Photo Ideas

So, I've been wanting to do a post about my engagement photos for a while, but knew it would be a lot of work so I kept putting it off.
Well, Today's the day! Finally I will be sharing with you my engagement photos, my tips and tricks and some cute ideas to make yours unique!

I am really lucky, I live in California and most of the best beaches are an easy 2 hour drive. I chose to have my pictures taken by my best friend. I wanted someone I knew personally because it would feel more personal and I was guaranteed to get what I wanted. She did an AMAZING job! She enjoyed it so much she is now launching a mini career out of it. If you're in the Kern County or surrounding areas contact me through email for a connection to her.

We took our photos in Santa Monica, Ca.  There were a lot of options as far as scenery and the pier added a fun element.

A few tips if you are taking your photos away from your home town;

  • Don't do your makeup until you get to the location
  • Bring a friend that can watch your purse, and carry your outfit changes
  • Check the weather ahead of time for optimal conditions

Now, onto my engagement photo gallery to give you some ideas about poses and props. Use the elements around you! We used a set of stairs (those are some of my favorites) and we shared an ice cream cone on the pier that made for some super cute photos! I hope this gave you some ideas for your own engagement photo session! Did you recently take engagement photos? Share them in the comments below!

  1. Truly fantastic Engagement Photo Ideas. We had our engagement at local garden venue Houston and had a fun and romantic photo session. Our photographer was extremely creative and helped us to create best memories.
